Today the Conservatives won the Blackmoor Vale Council by-election in Glastonbury and Somerton.
Congratulations to Hayward Burt, who took the division back from the Liberal Democrats after their Councillor, Sarah Dyke (who is also the MP), stood down from her council role causing a by-election.
The results were as follows:
Conservative: 1120 votes, 57.4% (+13.1)
Lib Dem: 714 votes, 36.6% (-19.1)
Green: 86 votes (new)
Labour: 32 votes (new)
Since the General Election, the Conservatives have been winning a number of by-elections across the country in both Labour and Lib Dem areas.
