Calling everyone who values British farming, food security, and our rural heritage to oppose the farm death tax bought in by the Labour Budget and Save our Somerset Farms! Sign up to our Stop the Family Farms Tax campaign here http://www.stopthefarmtax.com
The Country Land and Business Association (CLA) indicates that this new tax will impact 70,000 family farms across the UK with research from Agricultural Horticultural Development Board (AHDB), showing that the average farm could face an inheritance tax bill of £240,000 per generation under Labour’s plan.
This new tax will make it impossible for many farmers to sustain their operations, leading to widespread farm closures, threatening the nation’s food security, weakening rural communities, and undermining vital environmental efforts. UK farms play a critical role in nature recovery, implementing environmental programs and land stewardship that contribute to biodiversity and the health of the countryside. Labour’s tax changes will jeopardise these efforts, putting more pressure on natural landscapes as family-run farms struggle to stay operational.
Together, we can work to preserve the future of UK agriculture, protect rural communities, and secure our nation’s commitment to environmental recovery.
